When I'm old will you call me Lollie

The Turn of the Screw

This book was eerie and gave me the ba-jeezles! I'm amazed that a ghost story from 1898 could scare me.There's just something about creepy little kids and still, staring ghosts. I finished reading a chapter one evening and sprinted into bed afterward! I really don't think the lady was crazy btw, I think those little kids were possessed!

New Mission: Find My Muse

I highly recommend the 4-hour workweek by Timothy Ferriss to ANYONE! It's very motivational and really helps you look at life in a new way.

Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie

Just finish this book and I loved it! Very "Wrinkle in Time"-ish.  Wish I could go to a hidden moon and save it from Khattam Shud!  On to the next... Turn of the Screw, by Henry James and also The 4-hour workweek : escape 9-5, live anywhere, and join the new rich, by Timothy Ferriss. I'm hoping to get inspired by the latter.

Sending out love to my ladies...

Oh Ally!

"So, I'm going to be Toddlers in Tiaras for Halloween. Baby doll dress, big tiara, bling jewlery, ruffly socks, a sash, doll-like makeup...it's going to be awesome. Haha" -Ally

- - - And awesome it WILL be! Can't wait for the pics!

I've always been really annoyed when people call me "hun" - but I just realized that it really just dates the other person. Ha.

I did something amazing tonight. I locked the door before getting into the shower. A may zing.

Red Top Lookout

I found this 'lookout' by GOOGLEing fun things to do near where we live. Lookouts were used to watch for forest fires. My husband tells me these 'lookouts' are all over the place. This particular one is still used during fire season. It was a super easy hike and we even went along another trail too. My 3 year old LOVED the adventure. The sights were gorgeous and it was a really awesome trip to end the summer with.

Super B Turns 3!

We just celebrated my little boy's third birthday. We had a ton of people come from out of town and it was a blast!  At first he wanted a "Spider-Man" party, but eventually he decided he also wanted Ironman and Superman and the rest of the gang. So, I scoured GOOGLE images to get ideas for an awesome Superhero themed party. To keep costs down I did most of it myself. Here are the results...

The invitations

"Superhero Headquarters"
Cupcakes from local grocery store with homemade toppers

Party bags filled with superhero loot

Treats:
Colored Popcorn
Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows
Kryptonite Jello

Fun Callout Pictures
